Objectives 

Building a Strong Foundation in Literacy (Reading & Writing) 

1. Cultivating a Love for Reading: We encourage students to read extensively and develop a good reading habit through our structured programmes: the Space Town Literacy Programme (P1-P3), the Keys 2 Literacy Development (P4-P6), and our Home Reading Scheme. 
2. Unlocking Creativity in Writing: We inspire students to write creatively and express their ideas through the Space Town Literacy Programme (P1-P3), the Keys 2 Literacy Development (P4-P6), and the School-based Language Arts Programme (P4-P6). 
3. Developing Core Literacy Skills: We enhance students' core reading and writing abilities through a variety of fun and stimulating English activities.

Developing Confident Communicators (Speaking & Listening) 

1. Building Confidence to Speak: We create a supportive classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to participate and are given plentiful opportunities to use English. 
2. Learning by Doing: We develop students' language ability through interactive, practical activities that require them to communicate to complete a task. 
3. Mastering Conversation Skills: We maximize opportunities for students to practise their speaking and listening skills through engaging tasks, often supported by fun technology. 

Nurturing Attitudes, Positive Values and National Identity 

1. Promoting Positive Values: We use English activities and stories to promote positive values and attitudes (i.e. perseverance, respect for others, responsibility, national identity, commitment, integrity, benevolence, law-abidingness, empathy, diligence, filial piety and unity). 
2. Implementing National Security Education: A key focus is to deepen students’ understanding of our country’s development and national security, enhance their sense of national identity, and nurture them to become good, law-abiding citizens. This is supported by fostering a peaceful and orderly school environment.

Enriching Learning with Innovation & Technology 

1. Integrating Technology: We enhance learning through a digital learning mode, using AI, educational apps and online resources to make lessons more interactive. 
2. Learning through Drama: We strengthen students' appreciation for the English language and build their confidence by integrating drama and role-play into lessons. 
3. STEM in English: We support students in developing knowledge and skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by reading related materials and participating in exciting English-based STEM activities. 

Assessing Progress & Supporting Teachers 

1. Effective Assessment for Learning: We use various assessments to understand each student's progress and tailor our teaching to help them improve continuously. 
2. Commitment to Teacher Development: Our local English teachers and Native English Teacher (NET) work closely together to develop the best teaching strategies and resources, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for your child.
