Characteristic of English Language Education

1. Develop students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in a holistic approach by implementing Space Town Literacy Programme in KS1.     
2. Enhance students’ reading and writing skills, and develop students’ ability to appreciate the language by implementing Keys 2 Literacy Development and the School-based Language Arts Programme in KS2, and integrating drama in education.     
3. Help students become life-long learners through incorporating e-learning and self-directed learning in the curriculum.     
4. Integrate STEM in the curriculum to strengthen students’ ability to apply knowledge and skills, and foster students’ creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills.     
5. Promote National Security Education, and positive values and attitudes by offering students diverse forms of educational activities.     
6. Develop students’ self-learning abilities through introducing different reading and writing strategies, and note-taking skills.     
7. Facilitate learning and teaching through various and comprehensive modes of assessment.     
8. Cater for students with different abilities by incorporating multi-intelligence education in the curriculum.     
9. Develop students’ good reading habits by implementing a tailor-made home reading scheme for both KS1 and KS2 students.     
10. Cater for students with different learning styles by conducting small class teaching and a variety of learning activities.
